The project
Ordinance O-26-16 would amend the Land Development Ordinance to define "data center" and prohibit large-scale commercial, industrial or AI/cloud data centers as a permitted use in any zoning district township-wide, with a narrow exemption for a small accessory server room inside an otherwise permitted building. The Planning Board’s mandatory consistency review found the ordinance not inconsistent with the Master Plan; the Township Council still has to adopt it.
What usually comes next
The board usually hears the application at a public meeting. The hearing can be moved to a later date.
Each step is our own summary of a public board or agency document, linked where the document is online. A project's status can change at the next meeting. General information, not legal advice.
